The Jürgen Klopp era is almost at an end, with just one more game remaining now before he bids farewell to Liverpool. Sunday’s game against Wolves will no doubt be an emotional occasion as supporters get one final opportunity to serenade their influential manager.
The Res though will soon have to move forward, and plans already look to be well underway for life after Klopp. Arne Slot is set to become the German’s successor, and he might well have a solution to an issue his predecessor will be leaving behind.

Liverpool has had a real problem keeping control of games this season. Even amid the obvious improvement on the previous campaign, Jürgen Klopp’s side has looked vulnerable.
That was clear to see again on Monday as the Reds let a 3-1 lead slip at Aston Villa, and had to settle for a 3-3 draw. Obviously, Klopp will not be around to solve that problem in the summer, but Arne Slot might already have the answer.
Anthony Gordon is the surprise subject of transfer links to Liverpool at the moment. Given his Everton past, it would be quite the turn-up for the books if he were to arrive at Anfield in the future.
It’s maybe not as farfetched an idea though. The 23-year-old does have links to the Reds, having started out with their academy before moving on to Everton, and he did grow up idolizing Steven Gerrard.
Newcastle certainly wouldn’t let him go cheaply though, with the Daily Star suggesting it will take at least $126m (£100m/€116m) to pry him away from St James’ Park. As the speculation continues though, Gordon has delivered a message to Newcastle fans.
