On Saturday, February 6th 2015. Universitas Indonesia (UI) graduated 4.015 graduates from diploma to doctoral study level. The graduation ceremony for the odd semester of 2015/2016 was held at Balairung UI, Depok. In this semester, there were 588 graduates who successfully graduated with cum laude predicate.
314 graduates of regular undergraduate program successfully graduated with cum laude predicate. The highest grade point average (GPA) of this program was Shirley Anugrah Hayati from Faculty of Computer Sciences with GPA of 3,99.
Meanwhile, the highest GPA of international class undergraduate program was Sismita Sasmita from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences with GPA of 3,91.
In his speech, Rector of UI, Prof. Muhammad Anis encouraged the graduates to protect the honor of alma mater and continue to improve the mastery of sciences.
As the motor of science and technology improvement in Indonesia, UI committed to take part on national and international challenge, especially as the implementation of ASEAN Economic Community.
Thus, UI has developed several long term development planning, such as upgrading national and international accreditation, enhancing competitiveness of the graduates on national and international level, improving research culture and quality, entrepreneurship spirit, and also efficient innovation and breakthrough.
Moreover, UI always recruit the best student from various background that is based on a very good academic capability without concerning financial problem.
UI gives educational costs solutions by internal or external scholarships and also educational grants, where in 2015 UI has distributed 148 billion Rupiah scholarship to 39.723 UI students. The 66 billion or 44,82 % of the grant is the scholarship was provided by UI.
